A BOY CALLED DAD will be screened at the launch of Wirral’s 3rd Film Festival. Directed by BAFTA award winning Liverpool director Brian Percival (Much Ado About Nothing, The Old Curiosity Shop, Gracie!) written by Julie Rutterford (Teachers, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes) and starring Liverpool actor Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Neverland),
A BOY CALLED DAD filmed on location in Liverpool, tells the story of Robbie, a 14 year old boy who has just become a father. Abandoned by his own father, Joe, Robbie snatches his baby son and goes on the run. As Joe joins the search for Robbie, they are each forced to face up to the past and what it really means to be a father.
Brian Percival (Director) and Julie Rutterford (Screenwriter) from Liverpool, who reside in the Wirral, will participate in a Question and Answer session with the audience after the screening.
Brian said "It was always my dream to direct a feature film but to be able to direct part of it on my own doorstep made the dream even more special. The icing on the cake is to have our film screened at the 3rd Wirral International Film Festival. We hope it's as successful a night as the Clapperboard screening at the Plaza Crosby earlier this year".
Clapperboard Presents… is an exciting new initiative from Clapperboard UK’s Director Maureen Sinclair re-visiting and celebrating the groundbreaking work of award winning talented artists including, Alison Steadman, Rita Tushingham, Willy Russell, David Morrissey, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Ian Hart, Christine Tremarco, Frank Clarke, Jimmy McGovern, Margi Clarke, Nik Powell and many more professionals from ‘in front of’ and ‘behind’ the camera”.
Clapperboard Presents… is also an excellent opportunity for new and established media and creative players to network ideas and support for the benefit of all.
