Car Park Directed by Bill McCoid

As part of Clapperboard's commiotment to emerging new talent, we are supporting, in partnership with The Multi Story Film Company and Picturehouse, new local director Bill McCoid, with a screening of his low -budget feature CAR PARK.

A killer docu-soap that suddenly turns into a thriller. This feature film starts as a fast moving, almost surreal, documentary set in a Salford car park.  Legendary documentary filmmaker Randy Henry will take us inside the secret world of car parks.

The three men who work there live in their own little world. Steve Abbott dreams of a distant unobtainable future, the one they call SAS tries to recapture the certainties of a lost past, the third, Frank, simply pretends he is not there at all, as they try and entertain themselves in the mundane yet bizarre present.

Randy Henry, trying to make a docu-soap out of their everyday activities, records their every move.  But all is not as it seems. Why is it that some of their paying customers keep disappearing?

Will they ever keep the same Manager for more than two weeks running?

Will Steve Abbott ever manage the multi-storey at the Arndale?

Will Frank ever get to eat his cheese and pickle sandwich?

This is their life until one day they discover a secret so terrible, so dangerous that they may never have to park a car again, so long as they live.

In Salford, parking is murder.
