Clapperboard Patron Stephen Graham invites young film-makers onto Blood set in Wirral
LIVERPOOL actor Stephen Graham took time out from filming his latest movie to show young film-makers around the set.
The Boardwalk Empire star introduced the teenagers to his Blood co-star Paul Bettany and director Nick Murphy. Stephen, who plays Al Capone in the HBO series, organised the visit after he became a patron of the Clapperboard Youth Project.
He told the ECHO: “It’s great what they are doing to help young people. I’m backing it all the way. I’m really happy to be a patron of Clapperboard UK and to be able to support the project.
"It helps young people to become film-makers or to follow in my footsteps.”
Stephen, from Kirkby, has spent six weeks shooting the movie in Merseyside alongside The Da Vinci Code actor Paul.
He said: “I’m made up to be back. I was looking forward to a nice pan of my auntie Vera’s scouse. “What I noticed this time, even just walking down the street, is that the amount of respect is lovely. "This fella was walking past and he said ‘Alright Al’, people back home like to see a local lad doing well. And that gives me an enormous sense of pride.”
