Burnley actor Jessica Forrest (Leanne in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks), surprised pupils from Liverpool and Salford schools when she turned up at BBC MediaCity to participate in a creative workshop with the young pupils, aged between 12-16, who are making this year’s Clapperboard short films on the issues of Hate Crime, Identity, Sexual Health and Wellbeing, and Gang Culture, funded by Salford City Council, Granada Foundation, Liverpool PCT and British Board of Film Classification.

Jessica  said; “I was lucky to fall in to acting by chance so it’s great to help other young people.  What Maureen Sinclair and the Clapperboard team achieve through educating young people in film literacy is amazing, especially as it’s a charity which relies completely on funding”.
