MAUREEN SINCLAIR • Project Director
Founder of Clapperboard UK Limited, Maureen has worked in the media industry
for over 25 years organising numerous high profile events, nationally and
internationally. She initiated the Clapperboard Youth Project in 2004, upholding
her passion of bringing creativity into education. Maureen wishes to continue to
develop a progression route for young people to work within the creative
industries through the development of the Clapperboard Active Citizenship Panel.
Maureen is also Director of EventSinc, a company specialising in the organisation,
marketing and promotion of high profile events.
COLIN FARRELL • Youth and Community Worker
Colin has been a Youth and Community worker for 25 years specializing
in developing innovative projects with young people and deprived communities.
He has advised Clapperboard from its inception, accessing new funding streams
and continues to develop new initiatives including Clapperboard’s Active
Citizenship Panel. Colin also heads Forward Culture delivering cultural workshops
for young people in partnership with Clapperboard UK.
IAIN HOSKINS • Awards Co-ordinator
Iain has just returned from New York where he graduated from the prestigious
method acting school the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Prior to this
his career in the media includes many varied freelance contracts including four
years for Granada TV as a publicist on Coronation Street and heading the
marketing and music departments for Cream.

Handstand is a highly successful Film and Television production
company formed in Liverpool in 1993. We delivered the Clapperboard
Youth Project for the first time last year and are very pleased to
produce the films again this year.
Our Clapperboard 2008 personnel are:
HAN DUIJVENDAK • Creative Director and Producer
Han has over 25 years experience as a theatre director and producer.
In the last 10 years he’s moved into TV, film and video, producing
documentaries broadcast by ITV Granada, Channel 4 and FIVE,
and helping young people to create their own short films.
ALISON DOWN • Youth Film Worker
Director, writer, performance poet, youth arts worker and film maker.
Alison has been directing young people’s films since 2002.
JANE WATSON • Camera Supervisor
Film maker, community video artist and camera woman. Jane has been
involved in most of Handstand’s film and video projects for the last six years.
JACK RYAN • Assistant Film Maker and Stills Photographer
JOANNE McMAHON • Production Coordinator
NORA BRADY • Book Keeper
Specialist contributions were made by make-up designers Coleta Carbonell
and Helen Carroll, and sound recordists Mike Moran and Alan Watson from
The Vocal Booth. Composer Mark Melville created the score for ‘Are You Sure?’
using a theme created by Lena, Beni and Daniel Sebuyange.
GUY CHRISTIANSEN – Youth Film Worker
Director, actor, youth arts worker and film maker. Guy has vast experience
working on young people’s film projects.

Director, writer, youth arts worker and film maker. Alison has been directing
young people’s films since 2002.
