The Clapperboard Youth Project
Clapperboard delivers its high standing work in partnership with schools, youth services and professionals from the industry of film and television. We have an Active Citizens Panel of young people who decide on the themes of the films on issues that affect their lives such as racism, sexuality and gender and gun, knife and gang culture. The short films when complete are judged by a panel of experts and receive awards presented by celebrities at our annual high profile film premiere attended by a diverse audience including young people, their families and friends, partners, sponsors etc.
This year we have produced nine short films on themes such as antisocial behaviour, substance misuse, sexuality and gender; knife and hate crime. The 2010/11 project is now underway and is focusing on issues such as hate crime.
We have a long list of supporters and funders regionally and nationally including: Merseyside Police, Merseytravel, Panavision, Liverpool Echo, Government Office North West, Pinewood Studios, Media City UK, Salford City Council, Knowsley Youth Service and Knowsley Housing Trust, Salford University, Oldham College, Bermans Solicitors, Forward Culture and EventSinc, Bill Elms Associates, Bananafish Management, T5 Event Media, Community Foundation for Merseyside, Deutsche Bank, Abbott Vision, Lime Pictures.

Our Clapperboard Active Citizen Panel is a group of young people democratically voted by their peers who are actively involved in Clapperboard’s activities.
